Sensational Ishwar Sahu: Common Labourer Defeats Ex-Minister

India is flourishing as one of the most democratic countries in the world. The recent assembly elections in the country show the value of democracy. In the recent Chhattisgarh election, a common labourer nonchalantly defeated a leader who had won seven times as an MLA. Elections were held for a total of 90 seats in Chhattisgarh. While the Congress Party won 35 seats, BJP which has 54 MLAs assumed power. In the results released on Sunday, the verdict of the Saja constituency caused a sensation. The victory of the BJP candidate Ishwar Sahu, who contested from there, has become a topic of discussion across the country. Sahu defeating Congress candidate Ravindra Choubey, who had won seven times unopposed from Saja, has created a sensation.

Who is Ishwar Sahu?
Ishwar Sahu is a common labourer from Biranpur village in Bemetara District. He had a son named Bhuvneshwar Sahu. His son was killed in communal clashes on April 8 this year. Ishwar Sahu, who lost his son, started fighting against the government. He is fighting saying that his MLA Ravindra Choubey is responsible for his son’s death. Unexpectedly, the BJP announced Ishwar Sahu as its MLA candidate. Ishwar Sahu contested from Saja constituency in the assembly election and defeated Ravindra Choubey by 5,196 votes. He took revenge on the MLa who was responsible for his son’s murder. Meanwhile, Ishwar Sahu, who was elected as the MLA, is known for his low earnings. It is noteworthy that as a daily labourer, his income is less than Rs.25,000 per month.
