82-Year-Old Woman Contesting Jagtial Seat Due To Family’s Harassment

The process of filing election nominations is going on in Telangana. Leaders of many political parties and independent candidates are coming forward to contest the elections. However, the filing of a nomination by an old woman in Karimnagar district is now a topic of local discussion.

An 82-year-old woman named Cheeti Shyamala from Kurikyala in Gangadhara mandal of Karimnagar district is ready to contest the elections. She says that her sons are not feeding her or taking care of her. On top of that, she was being harassed by filing cases against her. In this context, the old woman took an unexpected decision.

She came along with her relatives and nominated herself as an independent candidate for the Jagtial constituency. She expressed her grief that her elder son Sriram Rao occupied her house and is now making her go around courts by filing cases against her. Shyamala said that she is nominating to contest the elections in order for justice to be done to her and that she does not care about her health.
