All Eyes On Congress: Sea Change In Telangana Politics In Just 1 Month

The Telangana Assembly election campaign will end at 5 PM today. After that, no one is allowed to use any kind of campaign or mics. Since then, because of Section 144, it has been prohibited to gather more than five people anywhere. The Election Commission ordered the closure of liquor shops for 48 hours. Officials have already prepared for polling in 119 constituencies across the state.

Increased acceptance of the Six Guarantees and Manifesto

Meanwhile, political analysts believe that the election campaign so far has turned people towards Congress. The six guarantees given by the party and their manifesto have received immense popularity among the people. Besides Congress workers as well as candidates took these guarantees from house to house. Campaigns of Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge, and top leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi who came from Delhi were also a plus. The unemployed who were cheated during the KCR regime were turned towards them with the job calendar and unemployment awareness bus trip.

Farmers’ Opposition To BRS

The EC shocked the BRS leaders who thought they would disburse Rythu Bandhu at the last minute in farmers’ accounts and gain their votes. It issued an order to stop the Rythu Bandhu. Analysts are predicting that the farmers, who are already angry with the BRS government for not waiving off farm loans, will definitely vote for Congress. Moreover, they say that any scheme introduced by the BRS is only available to the party workers but not to the poor people.

Doubts On Karnataka Cleared

In addition, people are noticing that the IT and ED attacks are being made on Congress leaders who joined from BRS and stood as candidates and spoke against KCR and BRS. Also, talking about Karnataka in every assembly has become a routine for BRS leaders. In this context, with the intention of putting a check on BRS, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah spoke about the schemes being implemented in that state. Apart from that, he also challenged the BRS leaders here. When he said, “If you want, you can all go to Karnataka together and learn about things there,” it became clear that what the BRS leaders said were all rumours.

It Is Congress’ Chance This Time

In the background of all this, big changes took place in the politics of the state. As BRS started asking for a third term with new promises even while ignoring their previous term’s promises people have stopped putting trust in that party. They believe that their lives will change if Congress comes. Political analysts say that there are many chances of the Congress party coming to power in Telangana this time.
