BRS Candidates Facing Backlash From Public: Impact On Elections?

With only a few days left for polling in Telangana, all the parties are ramping up their campaign. With the aim of winning the elections, they are doing door-to-door campaigns to impress the voters. However, in some places during the campaign, the ruling party’s candidates are being hit by protests. People are criticizing BRS candidates on development and welfare schemes. This is leaving the BRS candidates confused as to what to say. During the election campaign, BRS candidates are often facing such bitter incidents somewhere or the other.

Demanding Clarification On Real Issues

MLA Durgam Chinnaiah was met with opposition from the people in Bellampally of the Mancherial district. Local women protested while MLA Durgam Chinnayya was campaigning in the 7th ward of Bellampally town. They deposed that so far no new ration cards have been distributed to them and house titles have been given to only a few.

Joint Warangal district’s Station Ghanapur BRS candidate Kadiyam Srihari also suffered a setback. The women who came to the meeting of BRS key activists held in Raghunathpalli mandal Fatheshapur alleged that during the ten years of BRS rule, they did not give a single rupee to their village and gave even the Dalit Bandhu to their own party leaders.

Devarakonda BRS MLA Ramavath Ravindra Kumar also faced opposition from the people during the election campaign. While he was conducting an election campaign in Gurramthanda of Neredugommu Mandal women and youths blocked him. They alleged that the problem of fresh water in the village was not solved during the ten years of BRS rule. While campaigning in the ARP camp in Edapally mandal, the villagers stopped the Bodhan BRS candidate Shakeel. Shakeel was questioned as to why he came to the village without providing jobs and double bedrooms.

On the other hand, BRS candidate Surender also met with protests in Yellareddy. Villagers blocked Surender’s election campaign in Lakshmapur. On this occasion, the villagers protested that the problems were ignored in the past five years. Apart from them, BRS party MLA Maganti Gopinath, BRS candidate and MLA Manik Rao and Jukkal MLA of Kamareddy district Hanmanth Shinde were also protested.

Concern Amongst Pink Leaders

The leaders who do not solve their problems have no right to visit the village. This development is disturbing the BRS candidates. The pink leaders are being suffocated by the concern of whether the protests coming from the people will affect them in the elections. At the same time, the people’s support for the Congress party is increasing. People are adoring Congress candidates wherever they go for a campaign. The six guarantees given by the Congress, the manifesto designed to be useful to all sections of the people, is attracting the attention of the people tremendously. With this, political analysts believe that Congress will come to power this time.
