Elections 2023: Congress Focuses On Kamareddy, Sensational Decision Coming?
Congress hopes to win the assembly elections in Telangana and bring their party to power and is campaigning in a dashing manner. In this regard, Kamareddy is one of the constituencies that are causing excitement. The reason for this is that BRS president and Telangana CM KCR is contesting from this seat. Now everyone is interested in who Congress will field against KCR. Congress’s plan in this matter seems to be similar to what people are anticipating.
Three prominent names are being heard from the Congress party to contest from Kamareddy. They are TPCC president Revanth Reddy, former minister Shabbir Ali and former MLA Eanugu Ravinder Reddy. But among them, Shabbir Ali is already going door-to-door campaigning with the belief that he will get the ticket. He is confidently saying that he was born here and brought up among the people of this place. That is why there is no chance of anyone else getting a ticket from here, he said.
On the other hand, Ravinder Reddy, joined the Congress from the BJP, hoping to get the Kamareddy ticket. He is also expecting to contest from here and win. He won the 2004 election as the TRS candidate from Ellareddy. Later, he was defeated in the by-elections of 2008. After that, he won consecutively in the 2009, 2010 by-elections and 2014 general election. But he was defeated in the 2018 elections. After that, he joined Congress in the wake of new political developments.
Currently, all these equations are changing. KCR contesting from Kamareddy is the reason for this change. It is reported that Congress feels Revanth Reddy is the right person to face him. BJP is also fielding MLA Etela Rajender to defeat KCR in Gajwel. That is why the Congress is looking to show its strength by fielding Revanth Reddy from Kamareddy and defeating the CM.
Analysts are also leaning towards Revanth Reddy on the question of who will stand from Congress in Kamareddy Reddy. They believe that Shabbir Ali and Eanugu Ravinder are likely to crumple in front of CM KCR, but Revanth Reddy has a chance of giving a tough fight as well as winning against KCR. Analysts predict that Revanth Reddy will contest from here as Shabbir Ali’s name was not announced in Congress’s first list while all other seniors were named in it.
