Is This KCR’s Last Election? To Farmhouse or Pragathi Bhavan?

Coming into politics at the age of 30, he has been with the people for decades, been part of a two-decade-long movement, and a ten-year administration. This is the history of the BRS party leader and Telangana CM KCR. It seems that the latest assembly elections will leave bitter results for KCR who has been on a success tour with consecutive victories after learning lessons from just one defeat. Drawing from his comments in the recent election campaign, it seems that he is afraid of defeat this time. CM KCR’s frequent comments in many election campaign meetings hint at a feeling that these are his last elections.

In an election campaign, “What will I do if you make me lose? I will go and stay in my farmhouse. But you will lose a lot,” said KCR. In the Jagitial meeting held on Monday, “The name I have for bringing Telangana is as big as the sky. This fame is enough for me. I am 70 years old now. What more do I want in this life?” said KCR, expressing his satisfaction with his career so far. Judging by these words, it seems that this may be the last election that CM KCR is directly facing. KCR is currently 69 years old. He has been in politics for 43 years. He faced the election for 8 times. The Pink supremo, who was defeated as an MLA in his first election, did not know defeat after that. KCR, who has no personal defeat, has many setbacks in the party.

After the establishment of TRS (BRS Party), KCR, who had a huge victory, suffered a lot from the Congress Party’s strategy. The party almost split into two. Later, by-elections were used as a weapon to make the party stand strong. In 2009, he lit the torch of the Telangana state movement while facing defeats. After leading a long movement for 14 years, Telangana was achieved in 2014. Later, KCR created history by being elected as the Chief Minister of Telangana. It seems that there is no chance for KCR, who has been the CM till today, to win the post of CM for the third time. That’s why KCR often says in public meetings, “What will we do if we lose? Just go and sleep in the farmhouse.”

He seems to have confirmed his defeat behind these comments. Apart from this, it can be assumed he may set aside direct politics. As he is getting old, KCR is facing some trouble as his health is not cooperating. He seems to be thinking ‘Should I fight so much at this age? Do I need this?’ His comments saying ‘If I don’t win, you will lose’ are indirectly to get sympathy from people. He is trying to divert people’s attention with sentiment and convert it into votes.

If the BRS party wins the latest elections, KCR will become the chief minister. But he is unlikely to continue for a full five-year period. His son KTR is likely to be handed over the responsibilities. Should KCR continue in politics or not? It depends on the current assembly elections. If BRS wins, he can continue for one or three years. After that he can move away from direct politics. If he loses, there is a possibility that the party will be handed over to the youth leadership and KCR will take rest. It seems that these are going to be the last assembly elections for CM KCR. It will be known whether KCR is going to farmhouse or to Pragathi Bhavan on December 3.
