HYDERABAD: Onion prices are increasing day by day in Telangana. The price of onions imported from Maharashtra is very high in Hyderabad’s Malakpet onion market. Common people are hesitating to buy onions. People who were shocked by tomato prices are now in a situation where they can not afford onions. People are rushing to buy onions as the price has increased by up to 30 percent. There is a possibility that this price increase will have an effect on the central and state governments.

Previously, the price of one kilogram of onions was just Rs. 15, but this number stabilized to Rs. 32 recently. However, it suddenly shot up to Rs. 42 yesterday. As a result, common people are afraid to buy this essential commodity. It is known that onions reach the Hyderabad market from Maharashtra.

There is almost no curry without onion. Such onion is now bringing tears to the common man. It is known that the center has already imposed a duty on onion exports. As the festive season is already upon us, onions are a must for every household. Since the price is already headed skywards, people are hesitating to buy onions in large quantities.
