‘Pay the bill or we will close the mall?’: Warning to former Armoor BRS MLA

Currently, the new Telangana government is teaching a lesson to those who rampantly misused political power previously. Everyone’s corruption and irregularities are coming out. Recently, TSRTC gave a big shock to A. Jeevan Reddy, former MLA of Armoor, a key follower of KCR. The government issued final notices regarding leased premises. It has warned that the mall will be closed if the dues are not paid. This development created a stir in Nizamabad District. Leaders of the BRS Party are stating that this is a vindictive act on the current government’s part. The details are as follows.

There is a 7 thousand square yard land of RTC adjacent to the bus stand in Armoor. In 2013, a 33-year lease agreement was signed with Vishnujit Infra Developers Private Limited. A huge building named G-1 (Jeevan Reddy Mall and Multiplex) was constructed in that place a few years ago. Various shops and cinema halls have been built in it. A new Multiplex shopping mall was made available in Armoor. But the rent for this place is not being paid.

The rent arrears to be paid to the RTC on an annual basis have reached Rs.7.23 crores. Frequent notices were sent to pay the dues but there was no response. On Thursday, the RTC staff went and announced the details of the lease arrears on the mic. The authorities warned that the premises will be seized if the dues are not paid immediately. Meanwhile, the electricity bills of this building are also huge. Due to non-payment of electricity dues of Rs.2.5 crores, the officials of the electricity department have taken strict action. Electricity supply stopped. The RTC and Electricity officials said that they took these steps after they did not respond despite sending notices.

So far, the latest former MLA A. Jeevan Reddy has not responded on this issue. Meanwhile, BRS party leaders and followers of A. Jeevan Reddy claim that the government is engaging in partisan activities. They said that these notices came only when the government changed. Anyway, this matter has become a hot topic in Nizamabad district.
