Rahul Gandhi: Dorala Telangana VS People’s Telangana In Elections Battle
The Congress party has started its campaign for the Telangana elections to be held on November 30. As part of this, the party’s top leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi started a three-day yatra. They first visited the Ramappa temple in Mulugu district. Then they took a bus trip with party leaders and addressed a public meeting in Mulugu.
Priyanka Gandhi criticized that while Sonia Gandhi authorized Telangana formation as per the Telangana public’s wishes, the BRS government has failed to fulfill people’s dreams in the last nine years. “We have decided to provide 18 percent reservation for SCs and 12 percent for STs in Telangana. Rs.12 lakhs for SC and ST families under ‘Ambedkar Abhaya Hastam’ scheme. Additionally, for building houses and acquiring land for homeless SC and ST families under ‘Indiramma Pakka Illu’ scheme we will provide financial assistance of 6 lakhs,” Priyanka Gandhi said from Mulugu Sabha on Wednesday.
Later speaking in the same assembly, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that elections are being held between the Feudal Telangana (Doralu) and People’s Telangana. He said that in 2004, the Congress party promised to give Telangana and the whole world saw how it was realized. He said that usually no party takes decisions that will harm them, but Congress has formed Telangana even though it knows that it will harm the party.
Congress Always Keeps Its Promises
“KCR has given many promises in the past. They said Dalits will be given 3 acres of land. Did they give it? They said they would provide one job for every household. Did that happen? They said that double bedroom houses will be built. How many people were given these? They said they would waive the loan of one lakh rupees. How many people benefitted from that? We have fulfilled all the promises made in Congress-ruled states. We promised to give free medical care to all in Rajasthan. We have implemented it and shown it. We provide free treatment up to Rs.25 lakhs. The free health care scheme in Rajasthan is one of the best in the country. In Chhattisgarh, we are buying grain at Rs.2,500 per quintal. Chhattisgarh has the highest purchase price of paddy in the country. Go to Karnataka and see, women are traveling free in RTC buses. Every month women get free money in their account. Congress will definitely keep its promise,” said Rahul Gandhi.
Voting for BRS Is Like Voting For BJP
“BJP has lost its address in Telangana. BJP wants BRS to win here. BJP and BRS are working together. MIM is also in cahoots with them. BRS has supported all the bills introduced by the BJP in the Parliament. BRS, BJP, and MIM joined forces to defeat Congress. There will be no CBI, ED, or IT cases against KCR. This is proof of BRS and BJP’s understanding. I have been harassed by the central government in many ways. But there is not a single case against KCR. If you vote for BRS, it is like voting for BJP,” said Rahul Gandhi.
