RTC Employees Impatient On BRS: Eyes Towards Congress!

RTC voters will become crucial in this election. Two and a half lakh votes are cast across the state for the employees and retired employees currently working in the company. Currently, 43 thousand employees are working at RTC. There are around 20 thousand retired RTC employees. It is estimated that there are about 2.43 lakh votes for their families. In the last two elections, they mostly supported the BRS party; this time, the Congress is trying hard to get their votes.

Injustice To Employees

The leaders of BRS are promoting that they have the credit of supporting and restoring the RTC, which was facing bankruptcy. The Congress says that the BRS government has cheated the RTC employees and is giving them trouble by not paying the long-term dues due to them. It alleges that RTC has been weakened by reducing the number of buses and that no appointments have been made in the original RTC after Telangana, resulting in a reduction in the number of employees.

Congress is spreading the word that the Co-operative Credit Union, which is used to provide loans to the families of RTC employees, has used the funds and that the Co-operative Credit Union is going to close down as the organization does not receive funds from the government. The Congress is criticizing the government, which has been working for a long time in the name of merger, for not being able to provide even one month’s wages to the RTC employees as per the government employees.

Employees Towards Congress Party

RTC employees fought to fulfil their demands, and BRS government tried to suppress them. In this background, the employees went on sit-ins and hunger strikes and forced the government to come down. However, the promises given to them by the government have still not been fulfilled. Political analysts believe that the impatient employees want to provide Congress with one chance this time. Apart from that, analysts predict that the RTC employees will stand by the Congress party considering the lack of appointments, non-payment of dues even after years, and the debilitation of CCS.
