However, the Congress party is gearing up to defeat the BRS in this election anyway. At this juncture, former MP Gaddam Vivekanand Venkataswamy joined the Congress party and became an asset to the party. To this extent, it seems that he will contest the elections from the Chennur assembly seat. While Gaddam himself has indicated the same, his son Vamsi will also contest from the Peddapalli Parliament seat. It is reported that the Congress High Command has also agreed to this.

The Congress party announced the names of 100 candidates in two lists. But no one’s name has been announced so far from Chennuru. Initially, there were reports that this position would be allotted to the Communists. But, with Vivek’s entry into the party, the equations changed. There are reports that Vivek Venkataswamy’s name will appear in the third list of Congress. Meanwhile, it is known that Vivek’s brother ex-minister Vinod has been allotted the Bellampally ticket by Congress. It seems that the names of Vivek and Vamshi will be included in the third list which will be released soon. Because Vivek’s father, former Union Minister and senior Congress leader late Gaddam Venkataswamy played a key role in the First and Second Telangana Movements and fought a lot for Telangana.
