Telangana Elections: Congress Ahead In Coal Belt Area

Unexpected results are coming in Telangana assembly election vote counting. At present, after the completion of seven rounds, the Congress party is leading in 63 seats, BRS is leading in 42 seats, BJP is leading in 8 seats and MIM is leading in 4 seats. But the Congress continues to lead in the coal belt area as well.

Clear Lead for Congress

The coal belt area is spread over 12 assembly constituencies of Telangana. Asifabad, Mancherial, Bellampalli, Chennur, Peddapalli, Ramagundam, Manthani, Bhupalpally, Kothagudem, Pinapaka, Sathupally, Yellandu. However, in the counting of votes, Congress candidate Makkan Singh Raj Thakur has already won over Koram Kanakaiah in Yellandu and BRS candidate Korukanti Chander in Ramagundam. Congress is leading in Chennuru, Sathupally and Bellampalli. Congress candidate continues with a clear lead in Chennuru. By the end of the 9th round, Vivek had secured a majority of 19,901 votes. Congress candidates are leading in the other seats too. Meanwhile, Congress had won in 5 constituencies in the elections held in 2018.
