Delhi Liquor Scam: Shock for MLC Kavitha, ED Custody Extended

After spending seven days in ED custody for her alleged involvement in the Delhi Liquor Scam case, authorities presented MLC Kavitha in the Rouse Avenue Court. During the proceedings, the ED requested a five-day extension of Kavita’s remand. Following arguments from both parties, the court granted a three-day extension of Kavita’s custody. Previously, the ED had accused Kavitha of non-cooperation during their investigation and claimed that she received kickbacks amounting to crores of rupees in connection with the liquor scam.

The ED alleged that the ‘South Group’ received Rs 100 crores. They stated to the court that their investigation uncovered the deletion of Kavitha’s phone data. Additionally, the lawyer representing the ED mentioned that Kavitha is withholding information about her family members. The ED asserted that they requested details regarding Kavitha’s nephew’s business. The lawyer representing the ED informed the court that Kavita underwent interrogation alongside the forensic science report pertaining to her mobile phone. They disclosed to the court that the nephew’s phone was seized during the search.
