Medaram Jatara to end today with Deities ‘Vana Pravesham’

Medaram Jatara, which was held with much celebration, will end today. Sammakka, Saralamma, Pagididda Raju and Govindaraju will enter the forest today. The cleaning process of paddy fields will start from 3 PM and the program will be completed within 5 to 6 PM. Once this program is over, the tribal priests will officially announce that the Medaram Mahajatara is over. The Mahajatara, which began on Wednesday, with the arrival of Saralamma, Pagididda Raju and Govindaraju, ends with their entry into the forest. The priests who brought Sammakka and Saralamma from the forest to the people will return them through Vana Pravesham. For this, pujas are being done near the fields from Saturday afternoon.

Officials of the Deity Department announced that more than one crore devotees flocked to Medaram Jatara in three days. It was revealed that 20 lakh people came to Medaram on Wednesday when Saralamma was brought from Kannepally. Similarly, more than 30 lakh people came to Medaram on Thursday when Sammakka was brought. And on Friday more than 50 lakh people came. From Thursday, the areas of Reddigudem, Porattam, Narlapur and Kannepally around Medaram were completely filled with devotees.

From Wednesday night to Friday night, Medaram fields are filled with devotees without a single minute being left empty. Officials announced that more than one crore people came to Medara in three days. As Saturday is the last day of the Mahajatara, the number of devotees is likely to increase.
