Michaung Cyclone Effect: Chance Of Heavy Rains In Telangana Districts

Cyclone Michaung, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, crossed the coast at Bapatla in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. AP and Tamil Nadu were devastated by the impact of the cyclone. And Telangana was also influenced by Michoung. Heavy rains fell in many districts; this caused severe damage to the crops.

The weakened Michoung is a severe cyclonic storm centred about 50 km from Khammam. According to the Meteorological Department, it is likely to weaken further in the next 12 hours.

Further, due to the effect of Cyclone Michaung, there has been constant rain in the Yellandu and Singareni areas for two days. Coal production was completely stopped due to heavy rain. Production of 13,000 tonnes of coal and 45,000 cubic meters of soil extraction in the Koyagudem surface mine has stopped. On the other hand, coal production in JVR OC and Kishtaram OC has stopped due to rain in Satthupally of Khammam district. Production of 30 thousand tons of coal in JVR OC. One lakh eighty thousand cubic meters of soil removal work has been disrupted.

Farmers are worried because of the damage to rice, cotton and chilli crops due to the rain. The Meteorological Department has revealed that it will rain in Telangana today as well. There is a chance of heavy rains in many parts of Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a chance of wind speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour.
