Aiming to eradicate polio disease, the Telangana government is set to conduct a Pulse Polio program for three days from the 3rd to the 5th of this month. The government has announced that this program will be carried out in all primary health centres, urban health centres, Anganwadi centres, village panchayat offices, and government schools across the state. Officials are urging parents to ensure that all children under 5 are compulsorily administered polio drops.

Dr. Azar, the state officer for polio prevention, warned healthcare staff against negligence in administering Pulse Polio drops. He instructed that during the three-day Pulse Polio campaign, no household should be missed. Healthcare workers are ordered to visit assigned villages and colonies, ensuring that all children aged 0-5 years in these homes are given polio drops. Each visited house should be marked with a serial number. For homes with children who have not received the vaccine, an ‘X’ mark should be made. These marked homes should be revisited on the third day for vaccination. After vaccinating children, a mark should be promptly made on their finger.
