Surge in COVID-19 Cases: Medical Experts Urge Alertness

For the third consecutive day, the country has witnessed an alarming surge in the number of reported coronavirus cases, exceeding 700. In the last 24 hours alone, 756 new cases have been identified nationwide, contributing to a current total of 4,049 active cases. Unfortunately, the toll on human lives persists, as five individuals succumbed to the virus in the same period.

Tragic events unfolded with two fatalities each in Kerala and Maharashtra, while Jammu and Kashmir reported a single case. The cumulative death toll has now reached 533,392, underscoring the gravity of the situation. Amidst these somber statistics, a silver lining emerges with 889 individuals successfully recovering from Covid-19. The recovery rate stands at an encouraging 98.81 percent, while the mortality rate remains at 1.18 percent.
