Actor Nani’s Birthday

Jayalalitha Birth Anniversary

Jayalalitha, born Komalavalli on February 24, 1948, in Melukote, Pandavapura Taluk, Mysore, was a prominent figure in Tamil Nadu politics and cinema. Initially acclaimed for her acting prowess in over 140 films, she transitioned into politics in 1981, joining the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) following MGR’s lead. Revered as “Amma” by her party, Jayalalitha’s political ascent was marked by her tenure as Chief Minister, serving multiple terms beginning in 1991. Sridevi Death Anniversary

Sridevi, born on August 13, 1963, in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, was a prolific actress who left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. Sridevi’s journey in cinema began as a child actress in the Tamil film “Kandan Karunai” (1967), paving the way for her remarkable career. She ascended to stardom in Telugu cinema, sharing the screen with legendary actors like NTR, Nageswara Rao, Krishna and Chiranjeevi, often under the direction of K. Raghavendra Rao. She graced hundreds of films across Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam languages, garnering acclaim for her unparalleled beauty, acting prowess, and mesmerizing dance skills. In 1996, she tied the knot with film producer Boney Kapoor. Young sensation Janhvi Kapoor is the first of her two daughters. Sridevi met an unfortunate demise in a hotel room in Dubai due to accidental drowning, on February 24, 2018.

Death of Mir Osman Ali Khan

Mir Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam of Hyderabad State, died on February 24, 1967. He was born on April 6, 1886. He was the second son of the Nizam Mir Mahboob Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VI after whose death in 1911, he assumed the post of the Nizam with the title of Asaf Jah VII. He was the last of the Asaf Jahi rulers. His full name was ‘Fateh Jang Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan Asaf Jah’. Mir Osman Ali Khan also donated 14,000 acres (57 km2) of his personal land to the Bhoodan movement started by Vinoba Bhave for redistribution among the landless peasants. During the Indo-China war in 1962, he donated 5000 kg of gold to the war fund. During his reign, he built Nizam Sagar, Osmania University, Nizam State Railway, Bodhan Sugar Factory, Sirpur Paper Mill, Chiran Palace, Telangana High Court, and Raj Bhavan.

Death of Mullapudi Venkata Ramana

Telugu literary figure Mullapudi Venkata Ramana died on February 24, 2011. He was born on June 28, 1931 in Dhavaleswaram. He wrote Telugu novels, stories, film stories and comedy stories. He is especially famous for his comedies. His children’s book Budugu has a unique place in Telugu literature. He was one part of the Bapu-Ramana duo, being the workmate of the famous painter Bapu. He was the writer for many of Bapu’s films like Panchdara Chilaka, Mutyala Muggu, Gorantha Deepam, Manavuri Pandavulu, Rajadhiraju, Pellipusakam, Mister Pellam, Radhagopalam from his first film Sakshi. In 1995, he received the Raja Lakshmi Literary Award from the Sri Raja-Lakshmi Foundation.
