World Blood Donor Day

Karl Landsteiner, the Austrian biologist who discovered the ABO blood group system, was born on June 14, 1868. World Blood Donor Day is celebrated on his birthday to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and to encourage people to donate blood regularly.

Che Guevara is Born

Ernesto “Che” Guevara de la Serna, an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military strategist, was born on June 14, 1928, in Rosario, Argentina. Guevara was a key figure in the Cuban Revolution and a prominent icon of the 20th century. Guevara also led guerrilla campaigns in other parts of Latin America, including the Congo and Bolivia. He was captured and executed by Bolivian forces in 1967.

Donald Trump’s Birthday

Donald John Trump, an American billionaire, media personality, television producer, and politician who served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017-21, was born on June 14, 1946, in the New York City borough of Queens. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump’s assets have been estimated to be between $3.1 billion and $12 billion.

China’s First Hydrogen Bomb Test

China successfully conducted its first hydrogen bomb test on June 14, 1967, at the Lop Nor Test Site in Gansu Province. The test, codenamed ‘Test No. 5’, involved a thermonuclear device with a yield of 3.3 megatons of TNT. The test was a significant milestone for China’s nuclear weapons program and made it the fourth country to possess a thermonuclear weapon.

Sushant Singh Rajput Dies

Indian actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14, 2020, sparking large-scale public discourse about mental health. Sushant was an actor, model, dancer and singer, born on January 21, 1987, in Patna, Bihar. He made his acting debut in 2013 with the television serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’ and later starred in several Bollywood films, including ‘Kai Po Che’ (2013), ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ (2016), ‘Chhichhore’ (2019), and ‘Dil Bechara’ (2020). ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ earned him a Filmfare. He was found dead in his apartment in Mumbai in 2020. His death was ruled a suicide by hanging.
