Australia Women’s Cricket Dominates, Takes 2-0 Lead in Series Against India

The three-match series between India and Australia in women’s cricket is currently underway, with Australia securing a 2-0 lead after winning another match with a convincing margin on Saturday at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. In the high-stakes encounter, India fell short with a margin of 3 wickets, losing the series.

Richa Ghosh excelled in batting with a score of 117 runs off 96 balls, displaying an impressive strike rate of 121.88. On the bowling front, Deepthi Sharma’s remarkable performance, taking 5 wickets for 38 runs, couldn’t prevent India from facing defeat. Despite their efforts, the Indian women’s team couldn’t clinch the series in the third match held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.

Winning the toss, Australia set a target of 258/8 in 50 overs. The top contributors for Australia were Phoebe Litchfield with 63 runs and Ellyse Perry with 50 runs, both achieving half-centuries. In response, India managed to score 255/8 in the stipulated 50 overs, falling short of the 259-run target. Jemimah Rodrigues scored 44 runs in the innings. For her outstanding performance, Phoebe Litchfield received the ‘Player of the Match’ award. The third and final match of the series will take place on Tuesday at Wankhede Stadium.
