BCCI Announces Team Changes for Fourth Test Against England

Bumrah is not playing in the fourth Test against England. He was given rest as part of workload management. He was released from the team on Tuesday. KL Rahul, suffering from thigh muscle pain, is also not available for the fourth Test. However, there is a chance he might play in the final Test if he is fit. Mukesh Kumar has been brought into the team in place of Bumrah. Bumrah will be available for the fifth Test starting on March 7 in Dharamshala.

Although Bumrah played in the first three Test matches and is fit, the team management is considering reducing his workload. After the Test series, Indian players have to participate in the IPL and the T20 World Cup. It’s crucial for Bumrah to stay fit for the next three months for Team India. As a result, India will enter the fourth Test in Ranchi without this star pacer. On the other hand, Rahul has not fully recovered from a knee injury. The fourth Test will take place from February 23 to 27.

As Rahul is not fit, there are chances of changes in the batting order of Team India. With Patidar likely to get another chance despite being out of form, Siraj and Mukesh Kumar will share the pace bowling responsibilities in Bumrah’s absence. Currently, India leads the 5-test series 2-1 against England. Despite losing the first test in Hyderabad, India secured significant victories in the subsequent tests in Visakhapatnam and Rajkot.
