CWC 2023: India Prove They Are ‘Invincible’ By Thrashing In Form South Africa

India’s unbeatable streak continues in the ODI World Cup 2023. In their latest match, the invincible team has won by 243 runs against South Africa. India won the toss and batted first in the match held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. They set a huge target of 326 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 50 overs with key performances from both the opening and middle-order batsmen. Birthday boy Virat Kohli (101) scored a century while Shreyas Iyer (77) scored a half-century. Among the Protea bowlers, Maharaj, Rabada, Shamsi, Jansen and Lungi Ngidi took a wicket each.

The Proteas, who entered the ring with a target of 327 runs, did not look like reaching their target at any stage. As the Indian pace battery attacked the South African batters from the start, the South African players queued up for the pavilion. In the end, the team collapsed for 83 runs. Team India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja broke the back of the opposing team with his unplayable spell. None of the team’s batters could score more than 20 runs. Jadeja took 5/33 in 9 overs.

On the other hand, Mohammed Shami bowled 4 overs and played a vital role with 2/18. Kuldeep too wove his spin and took 2/7 in 5.1 overs. Similarly, Mohammad Siraj played his part with 1/11 in 4 overs. With this, the host Indian team won by a huge margin of 243 runs. India’s next match will be against the Netherlands.
