David Warner Announces Test Retirement: Plans Franchise Cricket and Commentary Debut

Australia’s prominent opener, David Warner, has announced his retirement from Test cricket. His final Test match against Pakistan marks the conclusion of his Test career, with full retirement from international cricket following the upcoming T20 World Cup this year. Despite the retirement, Warner expressed his intention to participate in franchise cricket globally, including the Indian Premier League.

David Warner played 112 Tests, accumulating 8,729 runs with 26 centuries and 36 half-centuries. In ODIs, he featured in 142 matches, scoring 6,030 runs, while in T20s, he amassed 2,894 runs in 99 matches. After the T20 World Cup, Warner is set to embark on a new role as a commentator, with his commentary debut expected during the India-Australia Test series in November and December 2024. Cricket fans anticipate Warner’s entertaining presence in the commentary box, bringing a unique charm to the experience.
