Ranji Trophy 2024 Showdown: Mumbai and Vidarbha Set for Epic Final

The Ranji Trophy 2024 season has reached its final stage. The teams contending in the final battle have been decided. In the first semi-final, Mumbai defeated Tamil Nadu by an innings and 70 runs. Vidarbha secured its place in the final by defeating Madhya Pradesh in another semi-final that concluded on Tuesday. The final match, scheduled for March 10th, will see 48-time title winner Mumbai clash with Vidarbha. The match is set to start at 9:30 AM.

However, Madhya Pradesh, chasing a target of 321 runs, was all out for 258 runs. At one point, with a strong position at 128 runs for the loss of one wicket, Madhya Pradesh unexpectedly collapsed. Yash Dubey (94) and Gouli (67) added 106 runs for the second wicket, moving towards the target. But within a span of 130 runs, they lost the remaining 9 wickets and faced an unexpected defeat.

In this match, Vidarbha, batting first, collapsed to 170 runs against the onslaught of Avesh Khan. Following that, Madhya Pradesh, batting next, were all out for 252 runs, thanks to Hushmuth Mantri’s century, gaining a crucial lead of 82 runs. In the second innings, Yash Dubey (141) scored a heroic century, leading the team to a massive score of 402 runs. Chasing a target of 321 runs, they were limited to 258 runs and exited in the semi-finals.
