Rohit Sharma Sidelined with Injury, Bumrah Steps Up as Team India Captain

In the test match against England in Dharamshala, Team India’s captain Rohit Sharma suffered an injury. He was not seen on the field during the third day of play. The BCCI confirmed that he has back pain. Consequently, vice-captain Bumrah is leading the team. Bumrah’s approach to bowling and fielding changes is drawing attention.

This is the first time Rohit Sharma has had to step away from a test match due to fitness issues. Despite injuries to fellow players, Rohit has never previously had to withdraw for fitness reasons. In the current test, Rohit (103) completed his 12th test century, marking a milestone in his test career. It appears that spending extended time at the crease led to his back issue. With the IPL and T20 World Cup coming up in the next three months, Rohit’s injury is causing concern among Team India fans. They are hoping for his swift recovery and are expressing their wishes on social media.

In the 5-test series against England, the hitman, after failing as a batter in the first two tests, struck two centuries in the subsequent three matches. Speaking of the test match, India was bowled out for 478 runs in the first innings, with Gill (110) and Rohit Sharma (103) scoring centuries. England was all out for 218 runs in their first innings, giving India a lead of 259 runs.
