U-19 World Cup: India Makes It to the Final for the 9th Time in a Row

Team India has reached the final of the Under-19 World Cup. India secured a victory against South Africa by a margin of 2 wickets in the semi-finals. Another semi-final match between Pakistan and Australia is yet to take place. India will face the winner of that match in the final.

South Africa set India a target of 245 runs after batting first in the semi-finals. India achieved the target in 49 overs with 8 wickets down. In the match, Sachin Das (96) and Captain Uday Saharan (81) played key roles, putting together a crucial partnership of 171 runs.

Chasing the target of 244 runs set by South Africa, the Indian team faced setbacks right from the start. Opener Adarsh Singh was out without scoring any runs. Arshin Kulkarni scored 12 runs. Musheer Khan, who has been in exceptional form throughout the tournament, was limited to just 4 runs. Priyanshu Moliya made 5 runs before heading back to the pavilion. The Indian team found themselves in trouble, losing 4 wickets for just 32 runs. Captain Uday Saharan and Sachin Das came to bat and together steered Team India to victory. Tristan Stubbs and Miena Fakao from South Africa took 3 wickets each.

India won the toss and decided to field first, as chosen by Captain Uday Saharan. South Africa scored 244 runs for 4 wickets in 50 overs. For South Africa, opener Dewald Brevis was the top scorer with 76 runs off 102 balls. Richard Selwyn made 64 runs. Raj Bawa from India took 3 wickets, Musheer Khan got 2, and Naman Tiwari and Soumya Pandey each got one wicket.
