After the lunch break on the third day, the on-field umpires were ready to resume play at 1:25 PM. But third umpire Richard Illingworth was not seen in the seat. As a result, the umpires did not start the game. When the field umpires told this to the fourth umpire, he went to the third umpire’s room. Commentators said Illingworth was stuck in the lift at the time. Later, Illingworth came to his seat. It seems that the lift does not work properly from time to time.

The players on the ground were a bit confused as to why the match was not being started. When they learned about this from the field umpires, the players laughed at once. David Warner, in particular, burst out laughing. The match started 7 minutes after third umpire Richard Illingworth took his seat. The video related to this is going viral on social media.
