Women’s Premier League 2024: Second Season Mini-Auction Prices

The women’s Premier League-2024 second season mini-auction is going to start soon. To this extent, five franchises are conducting a massive exercise on the selection of players. One hundred sixty-five cricketers are participating in this auction, which will be held on December 9 in Mumbai. But this time, an additional money purse of Rs.1.5 crore will be made available for all the five teams. Thirty slots, including nine foreign slots, will be filled in this auction. 56 capped and 109 uncapped players will try their luck in this season’s auction. Meanwhile, Gujarat Giants spent Rs. 5.95 crore in the auction, while UP Warriors spent Rs. 4 crore, and Royal Challengers Bangalore will spend Rs.3.35 crore. It is known that Mumbai Indians won the first season of WPL.

Auction Prices

Former West Indies all-rounder Diandra Datin and Australia’s Kim Garth have registered their names for a minimum price of Rs 50 lakh. Meanwhile, Gujarat Giants bought Datin in the last auction, but due to a dispute with the franchise regarding her fitness certificate, she withdrew from the tournament. Next, there are four foreign cricketers in the lowest price category of Rs.40 lakhs. Australian all-rounders Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Wareham, South Africa pacer Shabnim Ismail and England wicketkeeper Amy Jones are coming up for auction in the 40 lakh category. Chamari Atapattu (Sri Lanka), Veda Krishnamurthy (India), England opener Danielle Nicole Wyatt, Australia batter Phoebe Litchfield, and New Zealand pacer Lea Tahuhu have applied for the minimum price of Rs.30 lakhs.
