Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Explosive Double Century

Young sensation Jaiswal hit a double century in the second Test against England. Starting the second day with a score of 179, Jaiswal extended his formidable performance from the first day to notch up his career’s first double-century. Because of the hard work of this young player from Mumbai, India scored 396 runs and was all out, aiming for a big score. Having scored a double century, Jaiswal (209) was caught by Bairstow off Anderson’s bowling, concluding his impressive innings.

While India started batting with an overnight score of 336 runs for the loss of 6 wickets, Ashwin and Jaiswal dominated England’s bowlers by playing an attacking game for the first half an hour. Their 34-run partnership was broken by Anderson. Ashwin, after scoring 20 runs, was caught out by wicketkeeper Foakes. With the support of Kuldeep Yadav, Jaiswal completed his double century. Jaiswal stood out as the first player to score a double century in the World Test Championship 2023-25.

On the second day of India’s first innings, the Indian batsmen could not stand for long. The remaining four wickets were lost in just 30 runs. India concluded its first innings with a total of 396 runs. England bowlers James Anderson, Shoaib Bashir, and Rehan Ahmed each took 3 wickets, showcasing their prowess. Hartley also secured another wicket. England scored 14 runs in 2.3 overs in their first innings of batting.
