AP Elections: Chandrababu’s Push for Alliance with BJP to Save TDP

As elections approach in Andhra Pradesh, political dynamics are becoming increasingly interesting. TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu is intensifying efforts to forge an alliance with the BJP, already having met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Despite forming an alliance with Janasena in Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu is reportedly haunted by the fear of defeat. This concern is said to be driving his efforts to forge an alliance with the BJP, aiming to safeguard TDP’s existence, as accused by YSRCP leaders.

Chandrababu Naidu believes that forming alliances for the upcoming elections is a better strategy than contesting alone. In the 2014 elections, BJP, Janasena, and TDP contested together and achieved victory, whereas in the 2019 elections, TDP contested alone and faced a severe defeat. Chandrababu has strongly decided to form an alliance with the BJP, and political analysts believe that an agreement between the two parties is almost finalized.

Once, the BJP looked forward to support from Chandrababu. But now, Chandrababu is making efforts to form an alliance with BJP. In the current political scenario of the state, facing challenging circumstances, Chandrababu Naidu believes that aligning with the BJP again is the best escape route for TDP. Political analysts say that efforts are being made to rejoin the BJP and contest together in the upcoming elections, considering this backdrop.
