Telangana: Major Setback for BRS as Senior Leader Departs

During the parliamentary elections, the opposition BRS party is facing shock after shock. The party, which has been in power in Telangana for ten years, is seeing its members leave one by one following a defeat in the assembly elections. Already, several MPs and key leaders have bid goodbye to the party. Many MLAs are showing interest in joining the Congress party.

There is information that Sirpur’s former MLA Koneeru Konappa is ready to leave BRS. In light of this, he has called for key leaders in Hyderabad. There is a possibility that he may announce a significant decision regarding changing parties in the evening. Along with Konappa, his followers have already decided that they cannot continue in BRS.

The future course of action of the former MLA of Sirpur, Koneeru Konappa, has become a hot topic currently. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, BSP Chief RS Praveen Kumar and BRS President KCR held discussions and announced a coalition for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The leaders of both parties have decided to work together in the elections.

In the last assembly elections from the Sirpur constituency, Koneeru Konappa was the sitting MLA, and RS Praveen Kumar from BSP. Harish Babu from BJP contested. Surprisingly, BJP won in that constituency. Their candidate Harish Babu achieved victory with a majority of 2923 votes. The BRS candidate, sitting MLA Konappa, secured the second position with 60,379 votes. BSP president RS Praveen Kumar stood in third place, receiving 44,151 votes. Previously, Konappa had contested from BSP in 2014 and won. Later, he joined the TRS party.
