New Rule in Telangana: Is it Time to Update Your Number Plates?

Telangana government has made new changes. During a cabinet meeting, CM Revanth Reddy declared, “Henceforth, we shall refer to Telangana as the Telangana Government instead of Telangana State.” This change has made people wonder if they need to update all vehicle number plates. This is what everyone is talking about now.

Based on the unofficial information available so far, there is no need to change the TS number plates. There is no need to change the number of vehicles registered after AP was replaced by TS. They will continue as they were in the past. The official stance is that only newly arriving vehicles will be assigned TG.

After the formation of the Telangana state, the same practice continued. The AP registrations that existed until then continued as usual. Some officials are saying that the same practice continues even now. Only vehicles registered after the government’s GO will have TG. Officials are suggesting that updating the number plates for vehicles already registered under the TS code following Telangana’s formation would pose a significant challenge, considering the vast number of vehicles involved, making the process difficult.
