Hyderabad Implements New Traffic Regulations Starting Today

Hyderabad is rapidly developing. Police officials are taking special measures to eliminate road accidents and traffic problems. For this purpose, restrictions have been imposed on the movement of heavy vehicles in the city. According to these new rules, vehicles without permission are completely banned, and vehicles with permission are allowed only during specified times, as ordered by Kotwal Kothakota Srinivas Reddy. These new rules will be implemented from today, and legal actions will be taken against violators.

The roads in Hyderabad have been categorized into a total of 91 types of routes. Designated timings have been allocated for both heavy vehicles and other vehicles on these routes. For some routes, it is mandatory to obtain permission to travel.

  • Commercial vehicles weighing more than 10 tons are prohibited from entering.
  • Vehicles in the city weighing more than 10 tons are only allowed between 11 PM and 7 AM.
  • Goods vehicles weighing between 3.5 to 12 tons are allowed from 12 PM to 4 PM and from 9 PM to 8 AM.
  • Vehicles transporting waste weighing between 2 to 6 tons are allowed from 11:30 AM to 5 PM and from 10 PM to 9 AM, whereas vehicles weighing over 10 tons are only allowed from 11 PM to 7 AM.
  • Private buses are only allowed to travel between 10 PM and 8 AM. Pushcarts, cycle rickshaws, tractors, and similar vehicles are banned in 61 designated routes.
