Indian Railways Announces Two Additional Vande Bharat Express Trains

To accommodate the increasing demands of railway passengers and to alleviate congestion, the central government plans to introduce more Vande Bharat Express trains. The government is considering introducing two new Vande Bharat Express services between Mumbai-Kolhapur and Pune-Vadodara. With the inclusion of Vadodara-Pune and Mumbai-Kolhapur routes into the network, connectivity between major cities will improve.

Currently, Vande Bharat Express services are available from Mumbai Central to Gandhinagar, Mumbai CSMT to Madgaon, Mumbai CSMT to Shirdi, Mumbai CSMT to Solapur, and Mumbai CSMT to Jalna. The service from Mumbai CSMT to Kolhapur will become the 5th Vande Bharat route from CSMT.

Plans are underway to operate a Vande Bharat Express train from Vadodara to Pune. The start dates have not yet been announced. The introduction of the Vande Bharat Express train from Vadodara to Pune, with a connection to Vasai Road, is expected to significantly strengthen the rail network in this region, according to railway officials.
