Vande Bharat Express: Bridging the Gap Between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

The Central Government’s prestigious initiative ‘Vande Bharat’ aims to facilitate transportation routes to various states, saving passengers’ time. Already, Vande Bharat trains are operational across the country, including in Telugu states, speeding through all regions. The Central Railway Board has now announced good news for Telugu states. It has approved running another Vande Bharat train between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam.

This train, departing from Secunderabad at 5 am, is scheduled to arrive in Visakhapatnam by 1:50 pm, as informed by the officials. It will then leave Visakhapatnam at 2:35 pm and reach Secunderabad by 11:20 pm. The train will be available for passengers six days a week, excluding Thursdays. It will make stops in the Telangana cities of Warangal and Khammam, as well as in the Andhra Pradesh cities of Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, and Samarlakota.

The first Vande Bharat Express (20833/20834) on the Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam route was launched on January 15, 2023, coinciding with the Sankranti festival. It departs from Visakhapatnam at 5:45 am and arrives in Secunderabad at 2:15 pm. It then leaves Secunderabad at 3 pm and reaches Visakhapatnam by 11:31 pm, with the journey lasting 8.30 hours. This train has witnessed a high demand from passengers, recording more than 100% occupancy. In this context, the Central Board has approved the operation of another train.
