Caste Census In AP Postponed: Minister Chelluboyina Explains Reasons

The process of caste census in AP which was to start on the 27th of this month has been postponed. Minister Chelluboyina Venugopala Krishna revealed that the program will start on December 9.

He said that the caste census is meant to improve the living conditions of the poor. He clarified that the meetings with the caste leaders at the district and regional levels on caste enumeration have been concluded. The suggestions of the caste associations are being taken into consideration. He explained that they are going to hold meetings at the mandal level as well and that is why the caste enumeration process has been postponed. He said that they will move forward after receiving the opinions of more people.

The minister said that Chandrababu is spreading misinformation on caste enumeration. He reminded people that it was Chandrababu who once said that they would skin the BCs and cut off their tails. He pointed out that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, on the other hand, has taken BCs by his side. He commented that today, CM Jagan’s name stands for social empowerment.
