Putin’s Gift to Kim: A Symbol of Growing Friendship Between North Korea and Russia

The relations between North Korea and Russia are strengthening. The diplomatic relations between the two countries have been strengthened by the September meeting. It is known that North Korea assisted Russia with weapons during the Russia-Ukraine war. North Korea faced accusations from the United Nations regarding this matter. Both Russia and North Korea are taking steps to further strengthen their friendship. In this context, Putin sent a car to Kim as a gift last Sunday.

North Korea officially announced on Tuesday that it is accepting the car as a gift. Kim’s sister responded to this matter by thanking Putin. They stated that this gift symbolizes the special relationship between the two countries. The specifications and transportation details of the car made in Russia have not been disclosed. It’s no secret that Kim has a special fondness for automobiles and luxury cars. Despite the UN Security Council’s ban on the export of luxury goods to North Korea, Kim has been seen on various occasions travelling in luxury cars like Rolls Royce Phantom, Mercedes limousines, and Lexus SUVs.
