Gali Janardhan Reddy announced that KRPP was merged with BJP. He said that he would work as a BJP worker to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister for the third time. He stated that no conditions and no positions are required. Later, former CM Yeddyurappa said that Gali Janardhan Reddy and his wife joined BJP and that it was a good decision. He said that Janardhan Reddy’s inclusion will further strengthen the BJP and expressed confidence that they will win all 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

BJP suffered a heavy defeat in the Karnataka assembly elections. Congress secured a bumper majority and won power from BJP in the state. With this, the BJP thinks that it is not appropriate to fight alone in the Lok Sabha elections. As part of that, the BJP has already formed an alliance with the JDS party of former Prime Minister Deve Gowda. With this, the party is planning to turn the majority of Reddy, SC and ST votes towards them.
