Free Bus Travel For Women In Telangana, These Are The Guidelines

Congress has taken the first step as part of the implementation of 6 guarantees given by them in the election. On the occasion of Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s birthday on Saturday the 9th, the government has decided to provide the facility of free RTC bus travel to all the women of Telangana state under the name of Mahalakshmi scheme. They have also released the scheme’s guidelines in this regard.

According to this report, the Mahalakshmi scheme will apply to girls, women and transgenders living in the state. The government has issued a G.O. (Government Order) that it will be implemented in TSRTC Palle Velugu and Express buses in the state. Similarly, free travel in Ordinary City buses and Metro Express buses will be implemented in the cities. From 2 PM on Saturday, the beneficiaries can travel anywhere in Telangana state borders by Palle Velugu and Express buses. After crossing the borders of Telangana state, they can then buy a ticket and continue the journey. Also, women have to show an identity card like Aadhaar while travelling. The Telangana government will reimburse the TSRTC for the fares charged based on the actual distance travelled by women passengers. The government has disclosed the procedures of the Mahalakshmi scheme through G.O. number 47.
