CM Revanth Challenges BRS Leaders: ‘Ready for Discussion on Alleged Water Robbery?’

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy addressed the media in Hyderabad about water projects. He mentioned that, in the past, during YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s time, more water was allowed to flow through Pothireddypadu. He claimed that KCR and Harish Rao helped in this process. Revanth Reddy also criticized Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan for planning to divert water through the Rayalaseema uplift scheme, which started on May 5, 2020. He expressed concern about the impact on Srisailam due to Jagan’s actions.

Revanth Reddy blamed KCR for turning Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, and Khammam districts into deserts in Telangana. He argued that more harm was done under KCR’s leadership during the ten years of BRS rule than in the united state. He challenged KCR’s claims of irrigating crops through state projects, and he insisted that future assembly meetings should focus on water and projects, possibly holding joint meetings with the council.

Regarding the water projects, Revanth Reddy accused Jagan of planning to move 8 TMC of water daily, similar to KCR’s agreement to allow 8 TMC of water to AP through the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project. He alleged that KCR and Jagan made a secret deal at Pragatibhavan, and KCR avoided the KRMB meeting due to this agreement. Revanth Reddy also clarified that KCR supported the Rayalaseema and Muchumarri lift schemes, emphasizing that both projects began during KCR’s tenure.
