Kelvin Kiptum: Marathon Star Athlete Passes Away in Road Accident

Marathon star athlete Kelvin Kiptum from Kenya has passed away in a road accident. Reports suggest he was involved in a car accident near the city of Eldoret in Kenya, occurring at around 11 PM on Sunday. There were three people in the car, and it is known that two died at the scene. It is also known that Kiptum was driving the car himself before the accident. The vehicle reportedly lost control and overturned due to high speed. Subsequently, the vehicle collided with a nearby tree.

Sports fans struggling to cope

Sports fans are struggling to come to terms with the untimely death of Kelvin, who had a bright future ahead of him, in the accident. Born in Kenya, a country renowned for producing marathon runners, Kelvin started his career at a young age. He participated in his first marathon in Valencia in 2022. Kelvin’s storm continued into 2023 after starting in Valencia. Last October, he set a world record at the Chicago Marathon.
