Anjali Devi Suspended: NADA Enforces a Four-Year Ban on Indian Athlete
Indian athlete Anjali Devi received a major shock when she was caught in doping tests. The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) imposed a four-year ban on her for failing the doping tests conducted in June. Anjali, hailing from Haryana, tested positive for the prohibited drug GW1516 when her blood sample was examined. Consequently, she has been suspended from participating in all types of competitions for four years.

Last year, Anjali Devi shined at the Inter-State Nationals held in Bhubaneswar. In the 400 meters relay race, she finished in 51.48 seconds, clinching the gold medal and qualifying for the Asian Games. Not only that, but Anjali also became the sixth fastest Indian athlete to run in the 400 meters, following Nirmala Sheoran from Haryana, setting a record at the age of 25. Anjali also competed in the World Championships held in Doha in 2019.
