President Murmu awards the Bharat Ratna to LK Advani at his residence
Senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani received the Bharat Ratna award from President Draupadi Murmu. Due to illness, the President herself went to Advani’s home and presented the award. The central government recently announced Bharat Ratna awards to five people, including Pride of Telangana, the late former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, and Chaudhary Charan Singh. Additionally, MS Swaminathan and former CM of Bihar Karpoori Thakur were posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna. President Draupadi Murmu presented the Bharat Ratna Awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 30.

Prabhakar Rao, the son of PV Narasimha Rao, and Jayant Singh, the grandson of Charan Singh, received the award on their behalf. Family members of Swaminathan and Karpoori Thakur accepted the award on their behalf. Due to the ill health of Advani, President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi visited LK Advani’s house and presented the award.
