Bopanna and Partner Clinch Miami Open Title, Marking a Milestone

Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna created a new all-time record by winning the Miami Open title. Partnering with Australia’s Matthew Ebden in the men’s doubles, they delivered an outstanding performance. In the men’s doubles final, the Bopanna-Ebden duo triumphed over Ivan Dodig (Croatia) and Austin Krajicek (USA) with scores of 6-7 (7-3), 6-3, 10-6. Despite falling behind in the first game, Bopanna and his partner rallied back to dominate in consecutive games, securing the victory.

With this victory, at the age of 44, Bopanna has made history by winning the ‘ATP Masters 1000’ title, setting a new record. This was Bopanna’s 14th ATP Masters final and his 6th Masters title. Overall, this is the 26th doubles title in his career. Additionally, he has set a record as the third Indian player to win doubles titles in all major tournaments in Open history, following Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi, who have achieved ATP titles before.
